Deconstructing Sterling

Sterling

There are probably a few things you don't know about KBAQ's music director, Sterling Beeaff. For example, did you know that Sterling started reading music before could read words, or that he plays several instruments, writes poetry and composes his own music? To get the inside scoop, log onto Sterling's bio page on kbaq.org. There you'll find a charming profile previously featured in Wavelength, your public radio magazine. Speaking of, a new edition of Wavelength is being released in September- providing you with more exclusive news about public radio's finest.
Mozart Revisited

Randy Kinkel

We asked Randy Kinkel, Mozart expert and host of KBAQ's Mozart Buffet, to provide us with a few odd or obscure facts about the maestro to share with you. Here's what he came up with:

  • As a child, Mozart reportedly cried at the sound of the trumpet.

  • Mozart had a pet starling that he taught to sing the melody from one of his piano Concertos.

  • Even though a formidable musical genius, Mozart retained a childlike fondness for fart jokes and bathroom humor.

  • For more historical facts, current news and all things Mozart, visit Randy's Mozart Buffet web pages and tune into his show on KBAQ FM, weekdays beginning at noon.
